PTBi Fellow Awarded UCSF Faculty Position

We are thrilled to announce that our current Transdisciplinary Postdoctoral Research Fellow, Martha Tesfalul, MD, has gained a faculty position in the UCSF Maternal Fetal Medicine Division!

Martha completed her Obstetrics and Gynecology residency as well as Maternal-Fetal Medicine fellowship at UCSF; she received her medical degree from Johns Hopkins School of Medicine. In her work with PTBi, she completed a clinical trial on the implementation of strategies to reduce the rate of preterm birth and worked closely with the PTBi Community Advisory Board to develop plans for several studies. She has presented this and other work at national meetings and is an outstanding teacher and skilled clinician.

In her new faculty role, she will continue to participate in the PTBi fellowship, will work on establishing a preterm birth prevention clinic, and will join our cohort of MFM faculty providing MFM care at Highland Hospital. Please join us in congratulating Martha on her new position, which will begin on September 1, 2021!
