Graphic Designer (Temp)

We are seeking a temporary Graphic Designer to develop communications materials for us. We are dedicated to improving birth outcomes for Black and Brown communities through research, partnerships and education grounded in community wisdom and racial equity. We also sponsor and manage the Voices for Birth Justice public awareness campaign (visit us on Instagram @Voices4BirthJustice).

The Graphic Designer will be responsible for developing a wide range of print and digital assets, including reports, presentations, logos/branding, advertisements, social media posts for Instagram, Facebook and Twitter, infographics, posters, flyers and brochures. The Designer will work within UCSF and PTBi branding guidelines to conceptualize and create these materials to engage PTBi stakeholders, which include researchers, providers, parents, advocates, CBOs, policymakers and the general public. This position requires experience with designing materials that are engaging for BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, and People of Color) and strong technical skills in graphic design and user experience.


Community Organizing Coordinator, PTBi Fresno

We are seeking a Community Organizing Coordinator to support the community engagement and organizing activities to reduce the burden of preterm birth within Fresno, California in collaboration with our local research and community partners. The Fresno Community Organizing Coordinator works closely with the Director of Community Partnerships to help support and deepen community engagement within the local area.

The Fresno Community Organizing Coordinator will support two partnering initiatives whose missions are aligned in aiming to eliminate disparities in preterm birth and related disparities with a specific focus on improving outcomes for Black women, children and families in Fresno, California: the UCSF California Preterm Birth Initiative (PTBi) and Fresno Grows Best Babies Zone (BBZ). The Fresno Community Organizing Coordinator works across these two initiatives to support and deepen community engagement, communicate to external stakeholders about the initiatives’ synergistic missions and activities, and ensures coordination of community engagement activities to promote efficiency and minimize engagement burden by community partners.
